Question for January 2010 newsletter What can women’s ministry do to help people struggling in these hard economic times? --Kathy - Mt. Hope, Alabama Good question! When we look around us, the needs are so great it can overwhelm us into doing nothing. There is a part WM can play to ease suffering in your area. You can either do something as an individual group or join with another group or church for a larger outreach. Either way, here are some suggestions: (1) Choose one family and meet needs for them. Needs like groceries, diapers, or an unpaid bill if relevant. (2) Supply school clothes for a single mother family, and provide childcare while she is treated to lunch by a WM member. (3) Start a food bank or clothes closet in your church and open it once a week to the community. Remember to use wisdom as some people are out there to get money only for evil purposes. Ideas are endless for the good, however, and the Holy Spirit will guide your WM group to effect positive change in your community!
